A Case Necrobiosis Lipoidica



Abstract
Four cases of Necrobiosis Lipoidica were observed. The lesions consist of nummular, firm, flat, reddish plaques with yellowish centers, distributed chiefly over the legs and rarely on the trunk and upper extremities. Histologically, there are necrotic foci in the corium and there is transformation of the collagen and elastin into lipid. For non-diabetic cases, it was termed Necrobiosis Lipoidica granulomatosis, and in contrast to this, for diabetic cases, termed Necrobiosis Lipoidica diabeticorum. One cases has onset after trauma of the pretibial area.
Among four cases of Necrobiosis, two were Necrobiosis Lipoidica granulomatosis and the. others were Necrobiosis Lipoidica diabeticorum, in which the fasting blood sugar were elevated.
A cases of Necrobiosis Lipoidica has giant cells and mucoid degeneration, and the other were compatable for Necrobiosis Lipoidica.
Age onset was lower in Necrobiosis Lipoidica granulomatosis and higher in Necrobiosis Lipoidica diabeticorum.
